One of the side-imaging sonar that Humminbird makes is because it lets me to find bream beds quicker, mark them better and fish them easier, said Brad Whitehead of Muscle Shoals, a fishing guide on Pickwick Lake on the Tennessee River. When I m scanning the bottom and notice small craters, I realize bream beds are there in the deep water. I frequently may not be able to pinpoint them any other way. But I can move my cursor on the screen of my depth finder to where it ll mark those bream beds as waypoints. Then I can return to all the spots I ve marked to find and catch the big bluegills. Both species of sunfish are great on the table, far better-tasting to most palate than bass, and biologists say that harvesting a bound of them can really be good for the average size of the populations; otherwise, they tend to overpopulate and never reach full maturity, especially in private ponds. An electric knife makes fast work of the filleting job. Most anglers leave the skin in place, dust with cornmeal and deep-fry–hard on the cholesterol, great on the tongue. (Check this site out)

I like to launch at Chisenhaw creek. You have the old creek bed where you may be able to catch big bass and lots of crappy throughout the spring. There are 2 or 3 small islands with holes in the side of them that bait fish like to go in. If the weeds have not totally covered them up, I have caught some number of 5+ pounders out of there. Use a rapala, swim bait, or anything that mimics a live shad. Make sure to have a rod heavy enough to turn their head, if the hit that mill foil, they are gone. My grandmother lives less than a mile from Chisenhaw that is why I am so fractional to that area. (247sports.com)

The next bait I use is ‘THE JIG’! Fishing a jig is a true test of a fisherman’s patience, however if you may be able to take the time to build your confidence in this bait, it’ll yield some of the biggest bags you have ever taken to the scales. Everyone knows the jig is a ‘big bass bait’ which won’t only produce a big number of bites, however also give you the chance to land the fish of a lifetime. I have tossed every jig on the market, in every color combo you may be able to think of, and thought I could pass along some info to save you some time. I start by using a 7’6″ extra heavy rod with a 6. (chrisjacksonfishing.com)
Fridays full moon with the warm weather has pulled some big waves of fish up and they’re bedding big time. Fish plastics in four feet or less. Lizards, brush hogs, senko’s or any kind of small creature bait. Stay covering water and you’ll find small stretches where they’re bedding big time and you’ll catch 5 to 10 fish really fast. Look for hard bottoms and keep your eyes open and you just may find that fish of a life time laying just feet from your bait. (guntersvillebass.com)
Throughout the fall on Guntersville Lake your ‘practice period’ means spotting feeding birds and looking for lots of obvious baitfish and fish feeding activity. This can take place in those certain little spots many anglers overlook. Wind blown banks are frequently overlooked and at times evaded by anglers seeking calmer waters. This may be a bank that was calm at sunrise, however by mid day it was pounded for hours with by cold, 20-30 m. P. H. Northerly winds, as fall’s ever rising cold fronts come in with each passing week. Or a bank with southerly winds blowing directly into it can feature pockets of warm, southerly waters of some degrees more – than cooler waters only some hundred yards away – frequently causing bass to feed. What a day! My mother, Ms. Jane caught the 1st fish, the last fish, the biggest fish, and the most fish! Her 1st catch was a 32. 6 lb. Blue catfish. She broke the ice, and away we went. Ms. Jane quickly followed that up with a 42 lb, 62lb. Blue catfish. She also came inside 12. 1 pounds of the Alabama s State current Flathead Catfish Record 80 lbs. by hauling into the ship a 67. 9 lb. Catch. Omg! Happy Birthday Mom. (tnriveroutfitters.net)
Jim Duckworth of Jim Duckworth’s Guide Service 615-444-2283 told us "Percy Priest is in great form after all the rain we have gotten in the last month and is up to summer pool so you may be able to use all the cut throughs. The elevation to be exact is 490. 45 at the time of this forecast and steady and the water temp. Is at the time of this forecast falling gradually and is in the mid- to upper 70s. The water color is clear on the lower end but the upper end has about 3- to 5-foot visibility, which has made for some great fishing of every kind. The Bass fishing is hot on 100 and 200 Bandits all along the banks and points as they need all the crawfish and shad the can find and any of the Bandits crawfish colors are great and if it is a sunny day throw the blue and chrome or the black in chrome and they have a Chrome TN Shad it’s a special color and if you can not find it at your local tackle shop you may be able to go on-line to the Bandit web site and order it and many other colors you may have ever seen, I like this color much.
