One of the side-imaging sonar that Humminbird makes is because it lets me to find bream beds quicker, mark them better and fish them easier, said Brad Whitehead of Muscle Shoals, a fishing guide on Pickwick Lake on the Tennessee River. When I m scanning the bottom and notice small craters, I realize bream beds are there in the deep water. I frequently may not be able to pinpoint them any other way. But I can move my cursor on the screen of my depth finder to where it ll mark those bream beds as waypoints. Then I can return to all the spots I ve marked to find and catch the big bluegills. I like to launch at Chisenhaw creek. You have the old creek bed where you may be able to catch big bass and lots of crappy throughout the spring. There are 2 or 3 small islands with holes in the side of them that bait fish like to go in. If the weeds have not totally covered them up, I have caught some number of 5+ pounders out of there. Use a rapala, swim bait, or anything that mimics a live shad. Make sure to have a rod heavy enough to turn their head, if the hit that mill foil, they are gone. My grandmother lives less than a mile from Chisenhaw that is why I am so fractional to that area. (247sports.com)

Bass fishing has slowed down, as indicated by friend Callahan at Bart’s Bait Shop. The lake is two feet above full pool, and the water temperature is 68 to 70 degrees. Bass off coming off the bed and are becoming harder to catch, however plastic worms are the best bet for bass. Striper fishing has fallen off and hybrids are not biting also as they have been. Trolling is the best bet for striper. White bass are biting on smaller minnows. Bream bite is rising every day on crickets and redworms and catfish are biting a bit better.
