I know people like to speculate on how much fishing skill and equipment have to do with catching the good stuff so I thought I’d add my bit. I caught the tiny green carp with a fishing skill of under 100 and do not own a fishing pole or any other equipment. Then at around 100 fishing skill I fish up the sea turtle mount for the achy turtles all the way down Got the tiny blue carp at fishing skill 132, still trying for red and white. I could really propose that, instead of fishing in the old world, you level fishing either in the Dalaran sewers till you get a Giant Rat pet, or in Northrend schools till you get the sea turtle mount. The chance is low, and fishing for Deviate Fish is still a good way to level also, however for the collectors and achievement junkies out there like myself fishing in Dalaran/Northrend has its benefits. I agree there can be some good reasons to sell cheap, when I see half a dozen people in trade chat selling jade onyx panther's for 50k each over the course of a day Ysera US server there's something fishy going on. If they were different people why could they all charge exactly the same? You'd think that there could be some competition with each other over prices but there isn't, zero. The cool part about it’s that you may really concentrate, and that is something that for the most part it is hard to get two different alchemists to feel different. The downside, if you’re a transmute master you drive the transmute market, the whole price of it drives to that. And if you are not that you can not be competitive in that and that is true of all three specifications. So I think it is on the table still as something we can do, we are really looking at recipe ranks as really the crack for that. It was a dagger that gave +5 to skinning when equipped and allowed skinners to skin elite beasts and dragonkin when stacked with enchants to get your skinining 15 points above the max of the time. I think it was 300. I can not remember. The thing never dropped off The Beast in any runs that my skinning toon was on. Except one.
