We stopped in not expectingto learn so much. What an interesting historian. The gentleman that was there last night July 13 had worked with the Cherokee Historical Society and was a money of knowledge. He taught us more than I could have imagined. It’d be a great place to take kids because at intermission they gave them a chance to roast marshmellows. The park is beautiful also. Parents if you take your kids respect the fact that yes its a park but don’t let your kids run wild while they’re performing and speaking, that is just impolite. Theres lots of room they can play more up in the park. (tripadvisor.com)
In October of 1990, the state record for a brown trout was caught in Tribal waters. It weighed 15 pounds, 2 ounces. Those days may soon be returning as a renewal of this favorite sport is in progress here in Cherokee. New hatcheries, new management and new policies have been implemented and roughly 1. 7 million eggs will be hatched this year into Tribal waters. A new catch & release program will be presented afterward this year and will attract trophy fishermen from around the globe. (jellystonecherokee.com)
