In the zona hotelera, resorts and hotels line the beach, restaurants’ tables spill out onto the sand and vendors attempt to catch the eye of vacationers walking the beach. Couples, families, kids and the sporadic dog play in the sand and wade in the calm temperate water, and fishermen tend their nets as flocks of pelicans look on, hoping for a handout. The south end of the beach is party and there’s no shortage of spots to stop for a drink or a meal. (traveltips.usatoday.com)

The goal is to find the adult turtles and gather their eggs, to move the eggs to a protected place called Vivero and release newborn baby turtles into the sea when they hatch. Volunteers will also help collecting statistical data to learn about the evolution of the species. Actions must be carried out at night since turtles don’t go out of the ocean throughout the day because of natural predators, it’s safer for turtles to get out of the ocean in the black . In collaboration with local people and biologists from La Pe ita, volunteers will seek for the turtles, taking care of their eggs and the baby turtles. (cadip.org)
