The Silver State Tag draw is open to both inhabitant and nonresident hunters who are qualified to hunt big game, those who are fulfilling waiting period prerequisites for the species available. But, if an applicant is in a waiting period he’s only qualified to apply for the Silver State Tag for that species. If he’s not in a waiting period, an applicant could apply for a Silver State Tag, a regular big game tag and a Partnership in Wildlife tag all in the same year. Bass can still be found chasing shad at the surface at times, however for most lakes, expect top-water action to be occasional but useful . It is a big push for a mall that is kind of been a ghost town recently. It should be well-liked, being right at the heart of town, however every time I go in it is so empty. Maybe being downtown is what is hurting it, since there is been a certain shift south in the center of gravity in the past couple of decades. Almost every big store in town is south of Koontz, and the ones north of that line generally seem to struggle. The Carson Mall keeps holding on and keeps trying new things, it just looks like they can never win. Maybe this will be the comeback for them. (aroundcarson.com)

On Feb. 13, March 7 and March 28, conservation officers and the Twin Falls Search and Rescue dive team searched the Snake River under the Murtaugh bridge but came up empty. On a March 25 search, officers found a deer s hind leg under the bridge. It was sent to the Wildlife Health Forensic Laboratory for DNA testing. The lab discovered the meat from the leg paired a sample from the deer s remains. (elkodaily.com)

Yesterday my number one can list item was fulfilled. Since the era of 5 I have been fascinated with sharks, Great Whites in specific. And in the nearly 30 years between now, then I have fell in love with the idea of going out to the Farallon Islands 30 miles off the coast of San Francisco and attempt to see one of the beautiful animals in the wild. The stars have to align perfectly for something like that to happen and yesterday they did. Enclosed by my dad and all my best fishing friend’s while slaying rock cod with the islands aka the ‘Devils Teeth’ as a back drop, the unmistakable dorsal fin of a 12-14 foot Great White surfaced about 50 yards in front of the ship. Again this year, Fanny’s Family Hunting Club will be offering Guided hunts on its privately owned property in the Delacroix Area. Fanny’s Family was hunting this marsh since the land was 1st divided and sold as trapping land. I was lucky to grow up and learn to hunt ducks at an early age from a family of duck hunting men. My earliest memories of hunting ducks were with my father and his uncles who generally took the time to explain why and how we were going to set up that morning. These men were hunters who hunted as a way of life, to put food on the table, and when it was legal sold their bag of ducks to the market in New Orleans. (louisianasportsman.com)
