Fishcrazy, Which is rockcliffs? I have only seen the water on aerial photos and maps so I ‘m not familiar with the layout. The one satellite photo that I looked up had about a million powerboat wakes on it so I’m certainly interested in keeping away from them. I use a drop shot at my local lake so I am pretty familiar with it. It generally amazes me how close to my fins a 12 inch smallmouth will take a bait. Do the smallies like the black baits or light? Duck Creek, the fishing was a little slow. Mammoth creek should be blown out by the hatch property area but maybe up higher by the mammoth cabin area may be ok. BWO’s and stone fly may be a consideration for dry fly but dipping stone fly nymphs in pocket water spots was successful in the past. Just be sure you have your buggers with you incase nothing works. Duck Creek throughout father’s day was great for me. Great dry fly action starts around 4 or 5 pm till black. I worked for a map publisher that sold maps to various sporting products stores. With all the Gander, Cabela’s, Wal-Mart, and all the independent stores we shipped direct and billed corporate. With the new Sportsman’s system we had to ship them to Utah 1st, then they shipped the orders to each store. From MN to UT, then back to MN and WI About 90 of the time this resulted in the wrong books to get to each store. Well they could never sell there, so I swapped the wrong titles out for the correct ones. After they sold, the stock said that all of the incorrect titles sold in a short time. Well still a desert here in Fresno ca. For sporting products of the fishing and hunting wants. For now for any real supplies we have to travel over 100 miles north or south to a mom and pop store in Bakersfield or north to a bass pro shop. The sportsman s wear house that was close to us closed down two times once to move because of a bad place, then they opened up a new store again in what I thought was a bad place and one that wasn’t the simplest to neither find nor on a well traveled rout. I do wish some one that cared about the fishing and hunting people could come and open a store down here being we sit at the edge of three national parks and also tons of BLM land and a gate way to the eastern sierras Nevada mountain range to boot. The lake is primarily shallow, with lots of fallen trees to offer shoreline cover. Its black waters hide fish, so be prepared for a strike at any time. The DNR stocks muskies here annually, and there are good numbers of them ranging up to 50 inches.
