The walk in mentions accessing the best stretches of Seneca Creek, which unlike most streams on this list doesn’t have roadside access. The Seneca Creek Trail traces the river and a two-mile average hike will get you to the river s sweet spot, a five-mile part of water between a low waterfall and Judy Springs Campground upriver. There’s a total of 10 miles of fishable water in a steep gorge, the perfect opportunity to pack in a tent and fish for some days, particularly given the liberal camping rules of the area. The Patapsco River gives stocked rainbows and browns at two big regions. At the Daniels Dam area 5, 600 trout were stocked in the spring of 2015; the Avalon area received 5, 500. Both got fall stocking also. This is put-and-take fishing with flies, lures and bait allowed. Both regions may be frenzied in the spring as "the PowerBait crowd" frantically try to get their limitations, two trout at Daniels, five at Avalon. Times afterward, a big migrating laker, one of Athabasca’s many oddities they are early-run fish that swim into the rivers like salmon or steelhead was resting in the net, and my supple Tenkara rod, made for dinky trout in tiny water, was intact and prepared to do it again. The Chapter consists of two age brackets – those at Locust Grove center School and Prospect Heights center School ages 11-14 and those at Orange County High School, ages 15-18. The Chapter also assists, Woods and Water editor, Chris McCotter in the building of Aqua Cribs and trees which are placed in Lake Anna to offer cover for spawning bass. They have taught "Hooked on Fishing" classes to kids at Orange Elementary, assisted the Gordonsville Lions with their yearly Walker Memorial Tournament- Kids Day at Lake Orange, also as taken members of the Orange County Nursing Home on a fishing outing.
