Hi There here with this week’s Fishing Report. I wish I had better things to report but as for now Mother Nature has kicked us square in the hind end. After the 3 day southwest wind we’re only left with ¼ to ½ mile of shore ice that you may walk on from the Bay City State Park all the way up to Linwood. From Linwood to the north you’ll find ice that goes out more based on what road you decide but again only good walking ice, so continue with extreme caution. On the bright side, there should be fish chasing bait under the ice in the shallow water so you don’t have travel too far to get to your spot. (franksgreatoutdoors.com)

Rogers City: Is full of baitfish and they’re everywhere from shallow waters all the way out to 120 feet. Fish caught were full small alewife and smelt. Attempt small spoons about halfway down in waters 50 to 80 feet deep. Blue, green, gray, white and black were good colors. Steelhead were caught high in the water column with downriggers and lead core. Orange and silver or bright pink were good colors. Those fishing off the wall caught the sporadic salmon or brown trout when casting spoons or body baits. There’s still lots of good fishing out on the big lake and the fish look nice and healthy.
