I can recognize with the age issue. I have shelved all my vests to eliminate the Michelin man look and preserve my lower back for as long as I can. I either use a small chest pack that will hold two big common boxes or I use an old Bucks Bag Hybrid pack that resembles an over an over the shoulder chest pack with a big storage pouch in the back like a vest. I use is the Monomaster. Lots of people say they do not need a Monomaster because they just stuff their cut pieces of mono into a pocket and dispose of it afterward. I was in that group before I made myself use one for a couple of trips. I am on my second season with one now and I am happy I have one. Stuffing mono into your pocket works but not like this thing works. Not do I have long strands of mono handing out of my pockets and not do I lose cut pieces when I open my pocket to add more because I am putting all that cut mono into the Monomaster and once the mono is in the Monomaster it stays there till you remove it intentionally. There are a lot of pockets on this vest they all come in useful. There are pockets for everything imaginable except one thing that i generally need, a zipperd pocket for your keys. There are zippered pockets on this vest but way to low for me to put my keys into. I have a car alarm remote like everyone else and would not think of putting in those low pockets because i have a tendency to wade a little deeper than i should and invariably get the bottom of the vest wet. But other than that flaw the vest is comfy to wear all day it has a yoke something or another that assists to distribute the weight more evenly across your shoulders making you more comfy.
