I love my Torque. I should bought it before spending money on two non-motorized kayaks before. I love it so much I bought two, one for fishing the waters of Oahu, Hawaii and another for the Puget Sound. Fishing on the Torque has extended my range considerably, also as my total fishing time. Before, I had to think about coming in earlier to be wind and current that usually picks up throughout the day. I really doubled my fishing time by adding a second battery, putting in the forward compartment and running a wire to make a complete circuit with two batteries. I never have to worry about losing power on the way back in to shore or exhausting myself paddling against the wind or current To make sure, you must guard against over-confidence and use good judgment! The motor lets me to fight any kind of fish using two hands while steering with my feet away from breaking waves or reefs or rocks or maintain a steady position against the wind or current over where the fish are biting. I like my Torque much. The Ocean Kayak Torque is the second kayak I ve owned and operated and I must tell you; I love it! Now I’m able to just go greater distances without having to worry about paddling back; particularly if you must paddle in less than paddling friendly weather conditions. I must confess although, that I have paddled more with the Torque than with the Redfish. Some people argue that kayaking is a paddling only sport. If kayaking is only a paddling only sport, what are we doing fishing from them? Paddle or motor; who cares? All I know is that I wasn’t too far off when I 1st called my Ocean Kayak Torque, The final fishing machine! . (yakangler.com)

A kill switch is next to the speed dial which may be attached to the paddler so that your kayak doesn t take off on you. (fishingmonthly.com.au)
Great kayak. Less tiring because you do not have to row and your hands are free. I spent two months modifying the kayak. 1st, I put the battery in the front. I spent $500 to purchase a 50 ampere-hour starkpower lithium iron battery 16 lb and placed it in the front. Second, I placed two solar panels, one in the fron and another at the back 80 watt completely But it turned out that the solar panels weren’t ncecessary so I ain’t using them any more. The battery lasts for three days. Fishing around New Port beach harbour in Orange county, Los Angeles, enjoyable. So much so that I just bought a humminbird fish finder 999 ci si and just finished installing it. (amazon.com)

One of the 1st Torques off the production line was sent to Jim for us to attempt out in Montana. I thought we were gonna be in some trouble when he told me he was bringing an electric kayak with him. The rivers in Montana are very shallow. Perfect kayak fishing waters, however absolutly no good for something with a motor. The local anglers all row down the river in specially intended drift boats, not a motor in sight. A motor could only hang up on the rocks and concentrated weed beds. On the lakes it could be good… but we had 4 anglers, and two crew… and Jim only had room for 6 kayaks… someone was gonna be banging that motor down the river. (gameon2.wordpress.com)
I have been fly fishing from my Jackson Cuda 14 since July 2015. It is design and features are perfect for this function. I do like it is initial and secondary stability caused by it is 31 in be and hull design. Great rod staging for many rigs for different conditions. Lots of room for gear in the hull plus a useful compartment just fore of the seat water tight for cell phone, wallet and other things. My big issue is it is weight empty – 84 lbs. Equipped for day trip fishing it is close to 100 lbs. So I have a wheeled dolly that makes it controllable at launch and take out. The seat is comfy and it has 3 possible positions. (onthewater.com)
For many years. That electric ‘yak is a good one, however it somewhat missed the mark. The Minn Kota powerplant could have been a better fit in OK’s supremely stable Big Game, one of the 1st stand-up ‘yaks, than it’s in the sweet-paddling sit-down hull of the Prowler 13. Last year’s well-received Old Town Predators offered a more suited platform to realize the benefits of optional electric power. Old Town’s product designers did not hold back when they dreamed up the flagship of the newly called Premier Angler Series. (kayakfishmag.com)
