Ocean Kayak Frenzy Rigged For Fishing

This is my kayak for saltwater fishing in the Texas Gulf coast. I primarily fish the Rockport and Aransas Pass area. I use this kayak to get across channels to wade fish and regions boats do not go to. I haven’t done deep water fishing and I don’t fish from it, however that will change now with the addition of the trolling rod holders. 1st of all, just let me say that I love my Frenzy. I how own three Ocean Kayaks, and though the Frenzy isn’t what I could classify as a fishing kayak, it is compact size and light weight make it a great kayak for fast and easy short fishing. I keep the Frenzy simple, and does not take near as much effort to use as my completely-rigged fishing kayaks. I can handle it by myself with no problems, I built a PVC cart that enables me to pull my frenzy to the beach behind my bicycle! I just some number of kayaks with no problem since I’m a big person I was scared that it could be a problem . I had a ball and enjoyed kayaking so I went out and bought a kayak, a Frenzy, it’s nice, fits great over the car but although I’m below the weight restrictions it isn’t meant for anybody that’s thick in the bottom. It’s uneasy inside 1\2 hr my lower back is in knots from the way you must sit. Not only does you back and thighs hurts you also strain your shoulders and arms from the unnatural way you sit when you paddle. And although I only used it once and that was for 1 1/2, when I asked to exchange it for a different kind of a kayak that I could be better fitted for the manager refused to take the ship out. Here in Texas, I favor to run one or two rods from the beach with baits placed 300 to 500 yards out. The direction of the current establishes which direction I run my rods. We generally angle our baits into the current. With strong current we’ll angle our baits 45 degrees into the current. I like to run two rods out with a drop 300 yards out and another bait 400 yards out. To get a bait out 300 yards from the beach, you’re going to have to paddle 400 yards caused by the angle of the line. I’ve had several years now and have been able to test it under different conditions. It handles choppy water very well. I’ve taken it out to sea throughout high tide, and it’s so much fun! I love hitting the waves head on, then splashing down after paddling over them. It’s stable. Great for beginners, to help them get confidence. It may be fast too. For ocean kayaking, it’s stupendous. Take it out on the lake for a leisurely paddle too.
