The boys and me have fished this venue twice so far this year and have had a great day both times. We have tried the major day ticket lake, "RIO" with reasonable results. There are eight lakes to decide from all containing carp, bream, catfish, roach etc. Elliots lake is a syndicate lake for catfish fans but there’s also a day ticket lake for cat anglers though the price of a day ticket is higher at around 11 quid a day. The prices for the other lakes is the standard fiver 8am till dusk but accompanied juniors only 3 pounds. Under 16’s without an adult aren’t allowed as are barbed hooks, but boilies and groundbait are which makes a nice change. (gofishing.freeservers.com)

Our way up the north shore of the Burleigh Channel. It was a great way to take in the exquisite beauty of the Fraser property and to completely appreciate what is at stake if the proposed development is accepted. In specific, the long, narrow inlet near the west end of the property with its shallow water, abundant wildlife, and active beaver his dam is well under way is a spectacular, pristine wetland. If the developer has his way, it’ll be the site of 15 of his 60 units. (Find more info)
There’s a big group of British and continental locomotives and carriages to view. Included are the kids s favourite engine Thomas and the only surviving coach from the Great Train Robbery in 1963, the Southern Railway Travelling Post Office cart. You may be able to travel between Wansford and Peterborough, on a selection of carriages, on a seven and a half mile track where you’ll pass through the beautiful 500 acre Ferry Meadows Country Park. There’s also a secondhand railway bookshop and a small museum. (pureleisuregroup.com)
Visited 2005: This was a real surprise, as the site description doesn’t do it justice. The site is at the heart of Ferry Meadows Country Park which offers fun & relaxation for all ages. There are endless walks in a well kept, clean enviroment. The watersports offer good value for money and safety equipement is at hand for all users. Cycle paths are ‘car free’ & a good way to explore the countryside. The site is on both sides of the major entrance into the Country Park, with key security barriers in operation for campers. The shower & toliet blocks are up to the common high standard of the Club. (caravansitefinder.co.uk)
