The Public access is conveniently off of HWY 13 Just North of Number 1 stop bait and tackle. Other hotspots include: the Stateline Generating Station near Hammond and Whiting, Buffington Harbor near East Chicago, the Inland Steel break wall, the rocks just outside Pastrick Marina in East Chicago and the rocks bordering the Hammond Marina. The Kokomo Bass Anglers conducted its 1st tournament of the season on spacious Lake Monroe. Cory Lorts took the rest of the field to school after winning 1st place with three fish sporting a total weight of 5 pounds, 1 oz. He also had the tourney s big fish award with a largemouth dropping the scales at 2 pounds, 12 ounces. Henry Cavazos finished in second place with one largemouth topping out at 1 pound, 13 ounces. 3rd place went to Bob Lawson with one largemouth weighing 1 pound, 8 ounces. (kokomotribune.com)

Is the second biggest, spring fed lake in Indiana! This 1, 864 acre all sports lake is nicely located just 2 hours from Chicago and Indianapolis! Lake Maxinkuckee has a maximum depth of 88 feet and an average depth of 24 feet. Lake Maxinkuckee is famous for some of the best walleye fishing in the midwest, as recognized by Field & Stream Magazine. Local fishermen frequently go ice fishing here, the most recurrent catch is bluegill but yellow perch, crappie, and bass are common. Ed by 88 natural lakes in the northern part of Indiana. We guide 2 different parts of the Tippecanoe River. We guide a couple of sections down stream of Winimac State Park and a couple of sections below Oakdale Dam to the Wabash River. The lower part is mainly a Smallmouth fishery with the aforementioned other critters. It’s also a pretty good part to pursue a Musky. We have hooked some number of and landed none of them; it’s a rising Musky fisery. The sections below Winimac is a good Smallmouth fishery and a good Pike fishery. There was an violent fish restocking program underway on Lake Freeman for a several years. Water quality has improved considerably. While dropping a line, you may catch a range of fish as well as: Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass,  Striped Bass,  White Bass,  Walleye, Catfish,  Crappie, and Bluegill. White bass are a fun species to chase. These schooling fish are frequently caught two or more at a time when they’re bunched up and can mean deliriously fast action. Anglers have caught whites over 3 pounds at Kinkaid. An article about Kinkaid Lake could not be complete without talk about of the cat fishery. Catfish are very abundant in this body of water. The lake has loads of channel catfish which make up the vast most of the catfish population. Action may be fast and mad throughout the temperate water portions of the year.
