There’s an interesting new development of foul weather gear going on i Europe to day. The producer Regatta has made a new gear for fishermen that’s now becomming well-liked. The new gear is named Regatta Fisherman. The growing popularity is connecting to two tragic accidents in Ireland and Norway where the fishermen with this new gear survived and those with other gear didn’t. Look at regatta. No, decide the UK flag for english, go to professional and look on regatta fisherman. You may be able to find some movies there. – some RIBs, particularly bigger ones, will protect you well and it may be that usually you’ll go back on shore without a single drop of water on you. But by water you may want to generally expect the worst. But, this isn’t as bad as it sounds, you will not have to wear heavy oil jackets for each little cruise. Modern materials like Goretex allowed the design of light weight, wind and waterproof jackets that look nice. They should be your outer level. The outer or waterproof level is meant to keep the elements out. These typically have little or no thermal properties, however are completely water and windproof. (solentribster.com)

On other rivers, we will fish streamers like sculpin and leech patterns. For this kind of fishing it’s important  to have a sinking tip line to get the streamers down  Most of the time a 15 foot type 4-6 sink tip will work perfectly, and we typically go up one line size, to WF-9-F/S.  This matches the firmer rods perfectly.   On bigger rivers and in higher water, where we have to get down deep and fast, the best bet is one of the new RIO 24 foot Density Compensated sink info, which is about a type 5. You’ll want this in a 200-250 grain weight, based on your rod. The ingenious design that RIO is using lets the tip to sink faster than the stomach, and it looks to get the fly down a little faster and hold it down there longer on the swing.
