I am proud of Magiscroft, Scotland’s 1st and only big commercial fishery dedicated to coarse fishing. When Ronnie MacLeod and I fished all around Europe, we bemoaned the dire lack of coarse fishing in Scotland. So in the late 90s we decided to do something about it. After lots of blood sweat and tears primarily Ronnie’s and near bankruptcy, we built and opened Magiscroft in August 2002. (georgeglen.com)

Coarse fishing in Perthshire and Scotland is growing in popularity. All trout fishing clubs on the River Tay are obliged legally to sell permits for other species. Grayling, pike, perch and roach are the common species. Also there are some expert venues listed below which offer sport for carp and tench also. (fishingnet.com)
Fishery rules of fly, turn and worm were allowed, however unfortunately the Cumbrian fishing mecca wasn’t on its common form and the fishing was tough. Though trout and pike were caught, perch were elusive and nobody finished the great slam. But, there were some excellent prizes won. In 3rd place, Danny Williams caught three fish for a total length of 19 inches. In second place Andy Hoyle caught two fish for a total length of 39. 5 inches and the winner, Simon Everett, caught two fish for a total length of 46. 5 inches. (Visit this link)
I only know of one pike venue that I have fished myself when fishing for sea trout on the South Esk. It’s called Loch Brandy and is a magical place for me. It’s in Glen Clover above the Glen Clover Hotel some a hike but well worth it just for the view. It’s about 10 acre full of small wild trout and some pike. I have had fish to 11 pound on the tempt never bait fished it. I have fished it in late June five maybe six times it’s on the Cortacky estate I used to fish the beats at Cortacky castle with my brothers. Local tackle shops could be able to get you more info. There’s another bigger trout loch to the south east but I have never fished it so I don’t know if any coarse fish are present. (fishingquestions.co.uk)
Firstly, members past and present of the North West Fire and Rescue Service booked a day with us throughout the week. Kieran Barr bagged two weighing 4lb 6ozs while his dad Tommy Barr also bagged two weighing 4lb 5ozs. His grandson David Barr bagged two also which weighed 3lb 3ozs while fell to buzzers. David Lynch not being too familiar with fly fishing did well to land his 1st ever trout which weighed just over 2lb and which fell to a GH black tempt. Raymond Fleming got one to the bank which was around the 2lb mark too. Derry s Paul Temple and William Temple had an excellent day using the dries and shipman s buzzers. (fishinginireland.info)

My match continued in a alike vein right up till the whistle – get a couple of fish from one line, re-feed, move to the other line and take a couple from there before re-feeding and moving again. Three pegs to my left it was clear that Monkland’s Darrin Fergusson had caught some number of better stamp stockies around the 1lb mark and was making the most of his end peg. beside him Dougie Garmery from the other Monkland’s team had also had a good finish to the match but seemed to be catching the same stamp of fish that I was and I was confident that I had done enough to stay ahead of him. On Friday evening I visited the ‘Get Hooked on Fishing’ project run by Allan Ellis of Flintshire Neighbourhood Watch affiliation with a great bunch of volunteers and officers who all give up their free time for the project. A total of 25 youngsters were there on Friday, some with parents but in the major on their own and all really enthusiastic about the job in hand – fishing! Some of the youngsters there are well recognized to the police for causing anti -social behaviour in and around the towns they live. I went to see them at about 4:30pm, by which time they were just about prepared to hit the water. (anglingresearch.org.uk)
