Great little be usually abandoned, still is 15mins from downtown. For such a small park, if you stray off the trails and wander about, you may be able to use up a whole day here. Nice rock formations, and exposures, particularly in the spillway. If you look carefully in the shale exposed in the spillway you may be able to find iron concretions, a fossil or two and if you are really lucky, a septarian nodule. Nice view from the highpoint in the park in the eastern-most corner of the property. (alltrails.com)
Fact is, many Arkansas lakes produce excellent crappie fishing like this, throughout the hot summer months. Greeson ranks among the best for trophy-size crappie, however many Natural State waters produce loads of 1- to 2-pounders for savvy anglers. And it looks those big barn doors crappie weighing 2 pounds or more are becoming more common in waters statewide, as well as some of the lakes portrayed in the following paragraphs, places where you may want to find hot action during the rest of this year. From Springdale to Van Buren, there s a beat that slips beat to defeat and slowly becomes internalized. Drawn over the landscape on the day-long ride, looking out from the glass-embowered period compartments the vintage Pullman coach, seats lined with velvet and mahogany for coach and club passengers; the opulence of a 1950s Parlor car for 1st-class passengers the autumnal scenery takes on the romantic atmosphere inside, where every mile feels unrushed and the destination irrelevant. I wasn’t aware that there were two 14# fish caught this weekend. But I did catch a 14. 4 and I do not know were you got your info from but the fish was returned to her bed. I know that the sharelunker program is good for the state and our lake but she was in my livewell for over six hours and I did not want to put anymore stress on her so I have decided to put her back. I have been sightfishing for quit some time on this lake and have caught some big fish and I could never let a fish like that go by the crappie house. Just wanted to let you know that the fish was taken care of and your comment on the web site isn’t correct. (lakealanhenry.com)
