5. N 34 30 27. 0 W 86 10 19. 3 – Pine Island is a big grass island in the center of the river out from Waterfront Grocery Fishing Tackle and Supplies. This is Randy s favorite spot on the river year round. The river channel splits and goes on both sides of the grass and drops off 35 feet deep but the top of the island is only three or four feet deep. There’s also a cut in the center of the island that’s more than 12 feet deep. (fishing.about.com)
Lake Guntersville is one of the premier bass lakes in the nation and is ranked number three in best lakes in the United States to catch big bass. The problem with the two lakes ranked ahead of Guntersville, Lake Falcon and Lake Sinclair, is that you can be able to catch lots of big bass one year, however the next year there may not be as many big bass available as the year before. But, Lake Guntersville is the most-consistent lake to produce big bass every year, all year long. If you cast a Rat-L-Trap lipless crankbait for eight or nine hours on Guntersville, you ll have a bound of five bass that weigh 20 pounds. (outdoorhub.com)
In 1989 as a 21-year-old pro pulling in what, at the time, was a tidy purse – a mere $1, 200 – and the lake on the the Tennessee River has stayed one of his all-time favorites since. you are going to have a soft spot for a place that has earned you almost 300 great over the ensuing two decades. That depth of experience has given VanDam a uniquely informed approach for stalking Guntersville’s big mouthed prey. Early in the spring, a lipless crankbait is the ideal way to persuade the bass, and in the summer and fall, with all the grass, using a topwater frog tempt produces awesome strikes, says VanDam. I like to launch at Chisenhaw creek. You have the old creek bed where you may be able to catch big bass and lots of crappy throughout the spring. There are 2 or 3 small islands with holes in the side of them that bait fish like to go in. If the weeds have not totally covered them up, I have caught some number of 5+ pounders out of there. Use a rapala, swim bait, or anything that mimics a live shad. Make sure to have a rod heavy enough to turn their head, if the hit that mill foil, they are gone. My grandmother lives less than a mile from Chisenhaw that is why I am so fractional to that area. (247sports.com)

A Tennessee Valley Authority TVA impoundment of the Tennessee River, the Sequatchie River is the major tributary, followed by Town Creek and many smaller creeks. The deeper portions of the lake usually comprise of sand, gravel and mud. The steep ledges of old stream channels comprise of limestone. Most of the shoreline has a sand and gravel bottom. Heavy siltation has occurred in some creeks like Mud, North Sauty and South Sauty. (waterfrontbay.com)
On day two, I have decided to start in the same area as the day before. I got fewer bites but the three I caught by 9:00 AM were all decent fish in the 3 – 4 ½ lb. Range. now I have decided to move to Mud creek to hit a place I had found with a bunch of keeper fish on it. I figured I could round out my bound quickly and that could be worth the run north. It paid off and I was able to finish my bound out with a couple of 2 ½ pound fish. I figured I had around 16 lbs. Which secured a check and it was still only 10 AM allowing me lots of time to attempt to upgrade. (mattstefanfishing.com)
The fish were out in the center of the creek, and while I caught a 6-pounder quickly, after that it was a grind, with just three more 2-pounders to show for my efforts. At 12:30, I left for my secondary spot and on my 1st cast I caught a short fish. With a fast modification, inside five minutes I caught a 3 pounder and on my next cast I landed another 6-pounder. After that, I had 10 or 12 bites that didn t help before I hooked a fish that I couldn t move. I never saw it, so I m not 100 certain it was a bass, however it pulled off. Except for that I fished clean and when I got to the scales I had 19-05. (chadmorgenthaler.com)

Millers Ferry is the second of three reservoirs on the Alabama River and lies between Jones Bluff and Claiborne Reservoirs. The distance from dam to dam is about 105 miles, with the upper 70 miles being riverine. For the left over distance, the lake is a common lowland reservoir with flooded feeder creeks, fields, and timber. These different habitats support excellent fishing for largemouth and spotted bass in their respective regions. (gameandfishmag.com)
