Josh Ardis was in the Keys for 12 years now and fishing these waters everyday! He started fishing at a young age in Virginia, then pursued it as a career at Oregon Inlet in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He moved to the Keys in 2003 and started fishing out of Hawks Cay Marina. He worked as a deckhand for the Tailwalker 43 ft Viking for 5 years then moved to Captain for 2 years. After working at Hawks Cay Josh pursued his dream to travel on private sport fishing boats and fish all during the Caribbean ending in Grenada just above South America. Our time short and we wanted to do something memorable with the family. The ship ride out to the wreck about 5 miles off the shore was as much fun as the fishing. My wife, son, and I had a blast. We caught big Mutton Snapper, big black Grouper, lots of Yellow rear and Nurse Sharks. We had sore arms the next day from reeling in fish. Captain Mike did not talk much but he was concentrate of finding fish for our party. His knowledge of the types of fish, and where to find them was great. His ship and fishing gear are top counter. When in the Keys again, I’ll certainly visit him again, and could recommend him to anybody, be it your 1st time out on the ocean to experienced anglers looking for the trophy catch. I went and son-in-law to be. We were going after big Grouper and caught a couple smaller ones right off the bat. It then slowed for awhile but Capt Mike kept trying new spots and we got into em for a good hour straight. We had a blast, caught some number of yellow rear snapper, a king mackerel, cero mackerel tatsty fish!, a couple big yellow jack 30-40lbs and an amber jack. They are the fish we kept, caught some number of more that we released. Mike was a great man and a native of the area. Greatly suggested. (tripadvisor.com.ph)
