This morning the Senate and House voted to over-ride the Governor’s veto of the ship trailering bill with only a few not in support. Congrats to all the hard work that so many people put forth to make this happen. As a citizen, I am feeling real good now because what this shows is our elected officials will in fact listen to us if we speak deafening enough. When we got the pogy bill passed a couple years ago, I was not sure if that was the elected officials listening to the citizens, or the result of real good strategic planning. This time, it is clear to me that we as citizens have a voice, and we may be heard. (oifc.com)

Kayak Fishing Recently we had the Anglers Cup Challenge. This is a charity tournament sponsoring Catching for Kids and comprised of 8 local fishing organizations. Tidewater Kayak Anglers affiliation TKAA was the only team that comprised of only kayak fisherman. While they have took part in years past, they have never won the tournament. This year they not only won it, however put up some remarkable numbers, also. One of the teams made up some local anglers and was led by Richey Bekoley.
