The class was great, taught by some old timers who really took the time to work with the kids and me, too, since I only really knew a couple of knots . The class culminated in a trip to a local pond, which was one of my 1st fishing trips off of the close lake where I grew up. After that outing, I was thanking one of the old timers for a fun day, and I asked him if he could recommend a good reel for someone who kind of knew what he was doing, however was not an old salt. I began bass fishing back in the mid 70’s when I was a teenager and I still have a Heddon Lucky 13 white with red head , a frog patterned Hula Popper and grey Cordell Spot, all of which are approaching their 40th birthday. Come to think of it, I most likely have some Mann’s jelly worms & Mister Twister Slither’s that in some way did not melt in the old Rebel Bass’N’box they were first stored in.
