We enjoyed our stay in Cornwall much. The cottage was cozy & welcoming to arrive back to each day. We visited The Golden Lion pub at Stithians Lake & found the staff friendly & useful. Our highlights were, Perranporth beach, Sennen Cove, the lighthouse tour at Lizard Point & watching a play at The Minack Theatre at full moon. A shower head in the second bathroom could be useful. The kitchen was well equipped and the greenery bordering the cottage gave it a greta atmosphere, looking out of the windows. Shame the satellite internet wasn’t generally dependable. The scones and jam were much appreciated Thanks much. (holidaycornishcottages.co.uk)

Kate Greenaway 1846-1901 was one of the most well-liked British book illustrators of the Victorian era. A modern of Randolph Caldecott and Walter Crane, she attracted a large audience in the United States and England, and many of her books were translated into German and French. One of Greenaway\’s early successes was Mother Goose, or the Old Nursery Rhymes, 1st published in 1881, featuring such favorite poems as "Little Jack Horner, " "Little Bo Peep, " and "Jack and Jill" paired with whimsical illustrations of kids playing in an idyllic countryside. Her enchanting watercolors evoked the urban Victorian reader\’s nostalgia for the rural life of earlier times and echoed Greenaway\’s own longing to retreat to a more tranquil setting than her native London. And as I snaked along the narrow coastal road, I wondered how someplace this pretty may be quite that poor. It was a wildly romantic, storm-lashed evening as I drove into Mousehole it is pronounced Mowze-ol, its miniature medieval bay and stone cottages cast in the form of a perfect horseshoe. You half expect Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca or, if we were in Dorset, the French lieutenant’s woman sweeping past in her cloak. There’s an end-of-the-world feeling about Mousehole. Venture a little farther west and you’re at Land’s End. We loved it. (telegraph.co.uk)
