Fishing Charter Hillarys Boat Harbour

We went ship harbour at 6am in March 2012 and while the service and attentiveness was good majority of people failed to catch a fish and many never had a bite all day. Considering they have fish finders on board we were only being dropped in zones where there was one or two fish, or usually, none at all. Came home empty handed and never had a bite in spite of pretty decent bait. Of the 20 people fishing only 8 caught a fish and there were no big ones. Save your money. Tangles all day with 20 people all shoulder to shoulder. Awful. Staff are friendly but. It’s still good to get out on the water but go whale watching or something else as the fishing is worse than poor. (tripadvisor.com)

The Hepburn Ave exit on the freeway north takes you straight to Hillarys Marina / Sorrento Quay. Turn left at the roundabout to fish the left break wall or entitlement to launch your ship or fish the right break wall. This is a good spot to chase herring, garfish, small tailor, tarwhine, pilch and bonito if they re in season. Both the north and south wall are good for bread and butter species and, in a sea breeze, tailor come on the bite on the south wall. (fishingwa.com)

I have so much fishing gear I know it is ridiculous but I find great delight in packing up all my fishing gear from the shed and chucking it in the car to head out fishing.
