I marched up to the far end of number 5, fishing into the foamy water, the tea stained water washing up the white foamy head on the surf. I started with a average sinking line, with a light body coral cats whisker – pushing into the wind, a slow draw and four or five casts per spot, and moving on to the next concrete fishing platform, since I was the only one in that area. I covered the whole of the windward bank, round onto the grassy bank – with out so much as a sniff. I did not see a fish, anything move. (phillowry.net)
Is a clean and established pond which will reward the patient angler. Lurking in its depths are 50lb plus catfish, carp of 30lb and more and pike and perch exceeding 15lb and 2lb in that order. Though the school holidays may be busy, at other times the pond is comparatively peaceful; better, the fishing is free at the time of writing, at least . There are ducks on the pond, so be cautious when using floating bait. On the subject of bait, using small bait will nearly surely keep the catches coming, when a legering worm is the best bet to catch a perch or two. The nearest tube station is Tooting Bec, about ten minutes hike away. (movingtolondon.net)
Scott s successful setup was a Kable Leadcore leader, set up with the No-Trace system, down to a 3oz lead, fished on a Heli-Safe. The rig was Scott s own take on the hinged-inflexible rig, with a 20lb IQ boom, size-six Krank Chod and Mouth Trap hook part. His hookbaits were heavily soaked Banoffee pop-ups, which he pre-drilled to let the Banoffee dip to penetrate completely. Scott then pushed a part of cork stick into the bait to ensure maximum buoyancy and overweighted the bait with black Matter putty counterbalance. (dtgfishing.com)
As I had my 3rd rod out of the water I put a 15mm Monster Squid bottom bait balanced like the last one but on a fluorocarbon D-Rig using a size 6 Fang X, with 4 feet of Cling-On leader and a 2oz lead. I cast this rod more up the margin about 10 feet off the reeds as I had been steadily baiting with boilie mix since 9am. I put the rod on the rests and let out loads of line to help it sink. As I was to get everything prepared to do photos for the common I kept seeing the line had tightened up, and sooner or later the penny dropped that I had a carp on that rod also. I hadn’t turned my alarm on. (nashtackle.co.uk)
