Riverlakes neighbors get together throughout events for homeowners. Some years ago, the area was host to a sailboat race where some number of homeowners joined. Throughout the winter, homeowners take part in a ship parade, where they decorate their boats with Christmas lights and put on a show on the lake for the community to watch from their backyards. The property is nice, just not maintained well. Unless the PM company hires a groundskeeper or extra staff this property will continue to gradually go down hill. I mean the property is big, resort like and other complaining residents tell me that there’s 1 man to manage all maintenance issues. There’s no grounds keeping staff to keep the property clean other than the weekly gardening service. The pool area, the gym area, the parking lots and corridors leading up to the apartments are filthy. This staff shortage needs to be handled now, as this place could well be the nicest complex in Bakersfield. (apartments.com)

This is our dog's favorite place to walk. We took our Honey out yesterday for an afternoon stroll. We noticed that they were letting more water into the upper pond by the Bright House Pavilion though my husband suggested it was usually runoff from the rain we had. She loves to wade in the water and dip her head lots but only if the water isn’t too deep. They were cleaning the stream as it became somewhat silted. Hopefully that will be done soon. The lower lake was still low. There were really some mud hens in both lakes but only two ducks in the Bright House lake. They were sunning themselves on a rock so I got a nice picture. (yelp.com)
