Manager is impolite, talks down to you and acts like their doing you a favor by letting you stay there. Facilitys like shower room and flush toilets are a joke. Men’s side has 2 flush toilets and just 2 sowers, not to talk about that one of the showers hardly has any water pressure. Just a trickle. And this is the only shower building for the complete camp ground. Awful! Also we left the second day because of campers across the lake in rv’s partying and being so deafening till 4 am. We could not sleep. And this is all after being given this site on the lake because the primitive sites we first wanted was so muddy and so far away from any building’s that we asked to be moved. You picked an area of the state with few ponds that have decent access.   Lake Umbagog is just over the notch a bit.   it is a boundary water so I thjink you may be able to fish that with a Maine license.   The Androscoggin from Gilead down is a great float if you have a ride back up or drop a bike off and peddle back up the ten miles or so.   The only other pond I can think of in the neighborhood is Howard pond in hHanover but the access for that’s better suited for a canoe.
