Also, there’s a day hatch located amidships in front of the seat which may be either a good thing or a bad thing based on your point of view. For example, having dry storage space for small things that you use usually like digital camera is certainly a good thing but, the position of the hatch limitations standing room to two, narrow, troughs on along each side of the hull. Also, I found both the cup holder and the rod holder to be located too far forward to be of any real use and, I could like to see both features moved back closer to the seat. On the other hand, the bow hatch gives access to a big cargo hold and the tank well in the stern is well suited for carrying a small cooler or live bait well. (kayakouch.com)
This kayak tracks straight, glides well particularly for it is size. I had no trouble turning the kayak in tight situations. This kayak is very stable and has lots of features for fishing. The big storage just forward of the seat area tends to let water inside the hull–the storage area should have a good seal or better still a raised edge to channel water out the scupper holes. With the minor issue with the storage area, I certainly give this a 5 STAR ranking. I certainly recommend this kayak for fishing. It’s heavy, I transport it in a truck with a truck bed extender and use a cart that fits through the scupper holes. (reviews.cabelas.com)
In this kayaks built to carry a load, it sure is sweet to hop on a ship with get up and go. At just over 14 feet long and 30 inches large, the great Slam Angler hits an undeniable sweet spot between glide and maneuverability. It can slink through the mangroves with speed, still is still plenty stable for a practiced flats caster to do his thing while standing tall. Our test anglers enthusiastically praised the great Slam as an all-around winner with its dual, flush-mount rod holders, an adjustable console-mounted rod holder up front, and sizeable compartmented storage in the stern. The feeling super-thin and long fishing kayak that’s one of the fastest and most economical kayak that we have ever reviewed. While it does lack in distinctive features, it has a smart empty space in front of the seat that lets for great standing room. This is something that does set it on the side from other kayaks and while the price tag is somewhat high in our opinion, we do think that sporty anglers will love this kayak and we wholly recommend it. Depends, I have one now. I have not made an report on it still. For performance its smooth glides really nice and its not too tipsy you must have some good balance to stand up on it and for speed I do not know about other kayaks but mine using the hand held GPS it shows an average of 4 to 5 mph. If that makes any since. You may be able to cover lots of water without wearing you self out. I have a GMC truck that I slide the kayak in. Plus I have a cart to wheel it around with that its not bad. Hope that assists any. (capmel.com)
