Other introductions in the new Expedition series will include a new body design standard, with super metal super precision machine cut technology Daiwa has achieved its finest design ever, with a precision of 4 times better in comparison to that of the original model. Ther new drag system called UTD Hyper Tune uses a new carbon and metal washer system joint with a exactly intended grease that gives super smooth performance particularly when the drag pressure exceeds 10 kilograms. Zaion Air Rotor, this super strong light rotor is like no other a new revolution in strength and sensitivity. This design disperses pressure to the complete lower part of the rotor, considerably decreasing stress and flexing. (daiwafishing.com.au)
The world??? S best reels can only be teamed up with the final rods, Saltiga rods. Intended to compliment the reel series, the Saltiga rod series has set the standard for offshore game and jigging tackle during the world. The heart of any great rod is the construction of the blank. Using only the finest materials available, Daiwa has made the lightest, strongest graphite available and used their famous ??? Bias wrap construction??? technique to produce the thinnest heavy responsibility blanks available. With technology advancing at a fast rate Daiwa increased carbon density and minimized resin percentages via ??? Hot press manufacturing??? A procedure where the 8 different carbon layers are heat welded together rather than the conventional resin bonding procedure. (gimme.com.au)
I personally 5500 turn reel for both the tuna and kings. Have it paired with a old model Saltiga 50lb rod Spartan with 50lb Saltiga casting braid and a 60lb wind on leader. It pulls most tuna under 25kg up pretty fast and the 23kg king I got at Port Augusta was at the side of the ship in under 5 minutes. Im changing rod this season, as the skull dragging style is not really my thing. . (strikehook.com)
And prepared for action, each wasted no time in sending their casts humming and whirring into the air as early as the starting whistle was sounded. Right then and there the fishing frenzy had undoubtedly begun; with unabashed excitement and keen tension amounting in the air, thick enough to be sliced, and shouts rising from every corner exceeded with full-on shouts and cheers of boost from fellow friends and family members who had tagged along to the competition as moral support. Most of the catch landed had easily exceeded 4kg. (tce-sports.com)

Daiwa Saltiga ship Braided Fishing Line became very well-liked for guys wanting something better than standard Spectra. Saltiga ship Braid is constructed of eight woven braids making it strong, and giving it one of the thinnest diameter of any braided fishing line. It’s considerably smoother than other braids which means less friction going through the guides and water. That means that Daiwa Saltiga ship Braid will cast more than other braids also as reach the bottom with less weight. The line color changes every ten meters, with five and one meter indicators, so you may be able to see depth and distance. (jandh.com)
I bought a couple of these for striper fishing. I have had a chance to use them on many instances and for the most part am really happy with them. They have a good drag and are pretty smooth to operate. For a good medium quality line counter I think they’re great. I believe not the best looking reel in the world but should last many years The major reason I didn’t give this reel 5 stars is I have had a little trouble adjusting the drag. not lots and usually my fault I have a couple of Shimano Tekota reels and I do not feel like they are anywhere close to as good but then again they’re quite lots less costly too. , Air Rotor and Digigear drive and you have an very lasting and powerful reel able of handling the abuses of long term saltwater use. You have got a strong ABS aluminum spool, machine cut aluminum handle, 10 bearings, two ball bearings behind the spool to keep drag washers in perfect alignment. All in all, they are great reels which bring down the costs of technology heretofore found only in their most costly $700+ reels. Daiwa has produced a winning formula, and as one of our clients stated, "bought one on a lark, now replacing my other spinning reels. ". (charkbait.com)
Saltiga’s spinning reels have been redesigned to now have three Magsealed ball bearings. Daiwa has taken this revolutionary procedure of it’s magnetic oil system a step beyond. Daiwa has sealed the rotor bearing from the 1st generation of Magsealed reels but now has added three Magsealed ball bearings to improve smoothness and prevent corrosion. Saltiga’s drive gear will now be sealed on both sides with Magsealed ball bearings and also the line roller to offer a better seal with less winding friction. (jiggingworld.com)
The standard technique is to drop the jig down to depths where fish are marked, crank the reel a couple of times, give the rod a slight snap, then shortly pause while the jig flutters horizontally. There’s nothing complex about working the jig, and Captain Pete Yukins taught me a somewhat different technique that’s a cinch to learn and very efficient. Because these jigs plummet quickly to the bottom and a fast-retrieve reel can crank it back up in record time, Pete simply drops the jig to the sea bed, then cranks it up quickly with intermittent twitches of the rod tip. Pete never lets slack in the line, and the tuna love this technique. (More information)
