Hey a BIG thanks to all the responded, I think I am going to splice in a couple hundred feet on my rigger rods as they’re my major concern. My dipsey rods are 28# lead core and 16 strand wire, one thing the guys talk about is a twilly tip, I never used one and I do not notice it cutting in my tip eye, maybe I do not use it as hard as you lucky guys that live on the lake, I looked into it but why annoy if nothing going wrong? I bought the #30 Flea Flicker because #30 Big Game Mono was not doing the trick on fleas this year at Lake Ontario. It certainly worked to keep the fleas off. The downside is that it is rigid and hard to tie to a mono backing. I tied a bloodknot, cinched it down tight and checked it completely before putting it out. Still, I had a screamer on that took nearly 700′ of line out and I fought for 10 minutes before the knot let go. I’d go with in-line spins if you’re planning to tie this line to backing. I used the one I had some number of times before giving it away. There was no perceptible difference in casting distance between it and another 7′ regular rod. It was, sensitive. I liked that. There was no turn when fighting a fish. I liked that too. I was worried with the idea of the rod to get clogged with the green goo. A part of heavy pot string and some silicone spray served to keep the inside clean and the line line flowing smoothly. The line threader is a must. I tried once to thread the line although the rod without the threader, and couldn’t do it. That’s the only down side I see to the rod. (bassresource.com)
