This place is great. I've only lived in the east bay for about 7 years, however I've coming to Contra Loma since wayyy before it was a pool most likely around 15 years or so because I've had family out this way. The pool is a great place to catch some sun and just hang out for the day with family. You may be able to bring in food and coolers as long as it isn't glass in the neighborhood or you may be able to take up space at one of the picnic tables. Plus, there's some trails that you may hike they're on my to-do list! so there's plenty to do. (yelp.com)
ROGUE RIVER, Lower, Ore. -some more new spring kings showed up for jetboaters and shore anglers this past week, and with them a run of steelhead. The springer run will just keep building, and after this set of storms hits this week, there should be a jump in the action, as indicated by Andy Martin of Wild Rivers Fishing. Guide Curtis Palmer of River Secrets said the steelhead season is still in full motion. ‘My friend and guide Les Craig was sending me pictures and updates, as there’s new info during the day all last week, ‘ said Palmer. ‘he’s on average been catching a couple nice fish every day and unfortunately losing a couple steelhead also. Kokanee are holding 20 feet below the surface and taking spinners, hoochies, and Apex’s trolled behind a SlingBlade or 4/0 Dodger. Rainbows may be caught near the Spillway, Glory Hole Point and Rose Island. 209 586-2383; 209 586-2383$. (dailycamera.com)
If you have many rods, have 2 or 3 rods rigged with different line and fly mixes. This will make you able to change to different kinds of situations. Stillwater fly fishing, at least to me, is more of a line selection game rather than a fly selection game because it’s important to get the fly where the fish are. I typically take two rods with me: one with a floater and one with a sinking line usually an intermediate line . (putahcreekflyfishing.activeboard.com)
The holiday season is a time for family and friends to connect and use up quality time together, and there s no better way to do this than the time-honored tradition of fishing, said Carl Wilcox, Regional Manager for DFG s Bay Delta Region. DFG made it easier to purchase a license for yourself or someone else with our Automated License Data System. With the lakes stocked and your license just a mouse click away, all that s left to do is show up and enjoy yourself. (cdfgnews.wordpress.com)
Eagle Lake trout are native only to Eagle Lake in Lassen County, and are recognized for their big size and their capability to withstand high alkaline levels in water. They’re a distinct subspecies, having only 58 chromosomes instead of the 60 that majority rainbow trout have. Eagle Lake trout can grow to about 24 inches, weigh up to 10 pounds, and tolerate water up to pH 9. 6, higher than any other rainbow trout. They may also live up to 11 years. (rodmob.squarespace.com)
