They should now and a crankbait or rattletrap of kinds may not be a bad way to find them. Nice time of year to be out there. I was out at my moms on center pond saturday. I was wishing I had brought the ship with me! don’t get deterred if you don’t "kill it". It may be I believe one of the best lakes in the neighborhood. Most likely alittle predisposed since it was my backyard for the better part of 30 years. (ctfishtalk.com)
1st-time ship Captain Dave Morrissette and NEPVA season angler Joe Slattery, spent their time on the water throwing Yamamoto Senko’s and Texas rigged chartreuse lizards to bedding bass to fill Dave’s Triton Bass ship’s livewell with a five-bass bound totaling 13. 43 lbs. Stating their third Place hand-crafted wooded plaques Morrissette replied, I’m honored to have been able to partake in this NEPVA Bass Tournament and use up the day with Joe. The event is well ran and organized with enough donated prizes for everyone. I plan on checking my BASS Tournament schedule and hope I have the chance to fish another NEPVA tournament at some point. You know we have the relative of that bass fisherman here in Florida running a green skiff. He’s notorious in the Highbridge area we find snook. His worst run in with us was a group of 6 of us yak fishing a tidal run from both banks. There were partially submerged trees there and nice depth holding the snook. This clown comes right between us maybe 10 feet from the sand bank guys in our group and tosses a cast net right into the center of the hole. Acted as if we weren’t there. Then he just cranked up and off he went. He also has blown out flats by motoring through them and motored past out guys in narrow channels blowing out the area for hours. (wavewalk.com)
Over at Fisherman’s World I spoke to Jeremy this week and he said that there’s still a pretty good herring bite taking place in the Harbor. The fish are showing a slight preference for smaller Sabiki rigs he suggested size 6 hooks for your best shot. Otherwise the striper bite in the Housy is still a viable choice but the bite is tough. The fish are schooled up in the deeper water as projected in February an this is when they begin to get a sever case of lock-jaw. On occasion a warm snap like the one predicted for this week can trigger them into feeding so this may be a good call if you are wanting to wet a line in the next few days. (thefisherman.com)

‘depending on my experience and the greatly cold, rainy summer we had, particularly although the end of July, my guess is that survival of bass fry wasn’t good this year, ‘ Jordan said. ‘Spawning got somewhat delayed and the newly hatched fish did not get the benefit of the normal warming we experience in June and July. Survival of 1st-year bass through the winter is reliant on them to get bigger through the summer and fall, which will sustain them through the time of no feeding in winter. The smaller fish die, however the bigger ones make it. ‘. (Additional hints)
1st, we asked the Department of Natural Resources in every state to rank its top bass lakes depending on electroshock and angler catch-rate surveys. Also, we asked the B. A. S. S. Federation Nation state presidents to rank the top lakes in their states depending on tournament results, which narrowed the master list. 3rd, we asked the Federation Nation conservation directors to rank the bass lakes in their states depending on access, stocking practices and current health of the fishery, narrowing the list to 100. And lastly, we produced a blue band panel of experts, as well as outdoor writers, Elite Series anglers and fishing business leaders from across the country to manage these lakes depending on the priorities of bass anglers. The Congamond Lakes are made up of 3 basins: North Pond 46 acres, center Pond 277 acres and South Pond 142 acres . North Pond, the deepest basin has depths of 40 feet so is the clearest lake. Active lake management has usually eliminated the presence of non-native weeds. The lakes are located one mile east of path 202 in Southwick. Center Pond has only trace amounts of trout water. Water clearness differs with the different basins. The bottom type during all basins is usually mud with scattered regions of gravel. Aquatic weeds are patchy and usually scant. All three basins are heavily worked on and consequently shoreline-fishing access is restricted. (lakefrontliving.com)
