The only way to get here was in an air ship. There was no front door, no windows on the front side. There was water in there. It was bad, however you can not dwell on it. You have got to just go forward and re-do. The oil spill, to me, was lots worse than Katrina because Katrina was so devastating to my infrastructure, however I can rebuild. What is happened with the oil spill are things beyond my control. I can not rebuild the speckled trout habitat or the fishery, and now, it is declining, and I am hoping it does not decline any more. The lodge has roughly 15 to 20 fishing guides who operate on an independent freelancer base. The vast most use big but shallow draft bay boats that either drift, electric motor or anchor to sight cast or do targeted spot casting for redfish and seatrout. Many times throughout the year, the guides meet vast schools of big black drum and some big jack crevalles pushing 30 pounds. My dad and I ran into this place online while we were visiting Louisiana. We both said it was one of the best days of our lives. My dad has fished all his life and he said he never caught more fish than he did today at Cajun Fishing Adventures. We had Capt. Curtis LeNorman as our guide. Everyone we met was very friendly and useful. The meals were totally delicious and rooms clean and comfy. The lodge was a great place to relax and the real fishing trip was a once in a lifetime experience. My issue is to attempt to get restoration money to the states damaged by the BP oil spill to help fix coastal wearing away. If we do not fix coastal wearing away, Louisiana will not be here in 30 years. We have to return the Mississippi River’s flow to our marshes, which will return those life-sustaining nutrients—freshwater and sediment. All of south Louisiana is a important culture that is distinctive to the world—our food, our culture and the fact that people still live off the land.   Our food is catching on all over the world.
