Over at to Jeremy this week and he said that there’s still a pretty good herring bite taking place in the Harbor. The fish are showing a slight preference for smaller Sabiki rigs he suggested size 6 hooks for your best shot. Otherwise the striper bite in the Housy is still a viable choice but the bite is tough. The fish are schooled up in the deeper water as projected in February an this is when they begin to get a sever case of lock-jaw. On occasion a warm snap like the one predicted for this week can trigger them into feeding so this may be a good call if you are wanting to wet a line in the next few days. (thefisherman.com)

The water at IBSP is nearly generally clear and clean with not much weeds. Also snags are rare on the sandy bottom. The beach at the park is pretty steeply sloped but their are some bars. When the tide is high fish anywhere. When the tide is lower, look for the cuts in the bars. I find fishing near the edges of the cuts frequently works well, as the stripers root for sand fleas where the moving water stirs up the sand. The cuts come and go with the storms. Nside. The atmosphere is classy & relaxed. There’s a comfy sofa and chairs to relax in while you wait. They generally have coffee on and cookies or candy to snack on too. The receptionists are friendly. I have never in my life gone back to the same stylist a second time, for one reason or another. This place is different. I have been to this salon some times and will continue to use them. My favorite stylist, Ron, works here. He really makes you feel special and is a perfectionist when it comes to your hair. Reporting good fluking at Delaware reef site #11 on keepers. Reports from the Old Grounds varied some boats fishing in a little shallower water 75-85 foot. On structure caught some nice Fluke, however there are lots of short fish. There was some good fish coming from the Wildwood Lump this week with a bunch of shorts. The inshore trolling action has increased at the East, center, and Northeast lumps also as the Cigar with anglers trolling feathers and Ballyhoo. The Marlin were snapping in the Baltimore Friday and Saturday, some boats got many shots at Whites and a couple of Blues were hooked up also. (onthewater.com)

Never have I ever been so happy to be wrong about the Fall run. Is it going to last? I think it’ll. It could take catastrophic shift in weather or temperature to get this body off the literally MILLIONS of sand eel we have parked here in our area. The action has slowed as of right now, as it did yesterday, then picked back up when the sun went down and the tide changed. I’m in the procedure now of posting the 50 or so videos on Facebook. Aww man. Now I want a pork roll, egg, and cheese on an everything bagel. They make them the best. Their bunker & clams are not to bad either. The competition is tough in that area. Lots of small shops based on the summer months, and a good fall run. These next few weeks will be the busiest they’ll be all year. One man shares that he caught a bass on an sp minnow, and they sell out of sp minnows. Next week it is the sand eels fingers crossed and they will run out of ava and lethal dicks too. The houndfish, aka a crocodile needlefish, has no spines and can grow up to 5 feet and reach 10 pounds, as indicated by wikipedia. They’re found in oceans around the globe and are attracted to lights, and while they are considered tasty, there’s only a small market available. As I frequently note after saying that, many people don t realize how scalding hot it gets in the Pine Barrens. And that s not just depending on my infrared thermometer readings. The state s cranberry bogs have, out of need, advanced weather stations. They are to closely monitor the heat, which can devastate cranberries if they re not cooled down with water spray, and to feel for cold, which may also kill the crop if not covered, again, with water. The optimum strength and kind of line to use depends on water conditions, bottom structure, tempt type, and fish behavior, however here are some basicguidelines. In regions with a sand or pebble bottom, you may be able to go as light as10-pound-test when you have to cast small lures to go with the bait, although20-pound-test is a safer bet. Rocky regions demand heavier line to guard againstcutoffs. Many anglers now go with braided line because it is much thinner thanmono of the same pound-test, which means that they can use a heavier linewithout sacrificing spool capacity.
