Having returned a 20yr break I was looking for an entry level rod/reel combo for light rock/pier/beach. A short visit and chat to the useful staff resulted in a 2 part Shakespeare Sigma beachcaster and Shakespeare Omni fixed spool reel being bought. A fan of Shakespeare from earlier fishing, I wasn’t disappointed in these merchandise. Rod is light, good finish and easy to manage, reel the same. As a "starter" pack I could say the mix is excellent at under 60. If you cool more of a challenge from the small fish then scale down the line to a strength that more matches the fish. Go down to a 2 to 5lb line for the extra challenge. Most reels come with a spare spool so you could generally have a small pound line on one and a 15lb on the other. Also you may have 15lb on one spool and 25lb plus on the other if you cool going for bigger fish like conger. (torbayfishing.com)
