Martin, I but my Son is into course fishing, and separately from visiting those costly private fisheries that offer two lakes, we wonder if you know of a stretch oh the Ribble where we could both get satisfaction by going fishing together i. E. Me on the fly and my lad on his course fishing gear? A day ticket could be good, however we could surely think about joining a club or affiliation for next year. (bbc.co.uk)
The coarse fishing is good with chub and barbel present, and a roving approach travelling light can create fish from some number of swims. There are a couple of deep glides just before the fast gorge water, where trotting is possible. Barbel are possibly more noted towards the bottom of the stretch, below Sale Wheel pool. The big swirling pool itself has recognized to produce big bream, roach, chub, dace, barbel, pike and carp in the past. (Find more information)

A magical mile approx. single bank stretch of Lancashire’s River Ribble at Mellings Wood, situated downstream of the Tickled Trout bridge. If you like catching the hardest fighting barbel and Carp or bread slurping Chub anyplace in breathtakingly beautiful surroundings the Ribble is for you. If you get to know this intimate stretch of river, and you use the right plans many catches are generally on the cards and double figure barbel are now coming out on a regular basis. Fast streamy shallows, deepening pools and lots of bank side cover make this wood side stretch the essence of the specimen fishing. (lancsfishing.blogspot.com)
I started off catching small fish on the Trent and local Ponds, to the point that I did think about match fishing, however as time went on I found that I was not to get the challenge or buzz any more from catching little fish. I spent a day barbel fishing as I had never caught one and the rest is history as they say, I fell in love with them. I have a keen interest in carp fishing and use up a week out of every other year fishing in France for them 1st time last year . The banter with the lads is great, that catching fish is just a bonus but I do take it seriously and hope to catch when I go. (myquestforbarbel.wordpress.com)

Http:// Baymaltonanglingclub. Org. Uk/index. Php/site/water/rive-ribble Roy ‘Royston’ Lancaster and Irish born fishing brothers, Ian ‘Anglerian’ Macmillan & Barry Cooper have had a great year on the River Ribble at Preston. This video is a brief look at some of their recent catches. The fishing trio are some of the most prolific Barbel anglers in West Lancashire. Royston has had a 15 lb 7 oz fish that was just 1 oz from the record at the time of it is catch. Barry Cooper is the most experienced Barbel angler in the region and his novelty has payed off with well over 100 barbel from the Preston stretch this season with a big number of doubles. I have fished fro over 30 years but for around 8-10 years hardly went caused by having a family and work etc. The 1st thing that was different when i began fishing again was the lack of quality river fish. I pick up the fishing times/mail every week and i see people with roach of 2lb winning prizes etc like its something really special. it looks to be these days im pretty sure i was catching roach of this quality daily back in the late 80’s and early 90’s but they may just have looked bigger because i was young. In fact overall river fishing looks to be nearly dead to anglers these days with everyone fishing stocked to death commercials. (fishingquestions.co.uk)
Fast look at my second road bike ever – and my 1st carbon bike ever too. Just did a couple of hours on it, and WOW! What a difference some carbon makes! Smooth as butter, inflexible, responsive. Just smart. Unreal off the mark too. Time will tell how it goes but 1st impressions are really good. Athena groupset – lovely, however the only thing that worries me is the up-shift levers. Feels a bit flimsy and does not look tough. Also if it breaks it seems like it a ache in the arse to fix. We will see although, Hopefully I am wrong. Wheels are great, tires are unbelievable. Sub 7KG too. (randomthoughts.club)
